The Cessna aeroplane company is a manufacturing company based in Kansas, USA. They are most well known for there small piston powered aircrafts although they do produce some business jets. The company began in 1911 when they built a wood and fabric plane and became the first people to fly between the Mississippi river and the Rocky Mountains. The first monoplane flew on august the 13th 1927.


The company had to close for a short time during 1932 to 1934 due to the state of the economy. In 1934 two brothers took control of the company and built it into the success it became. They have made more light air crafts than any other company. The figures show 190,000 by the end of 2008.

The Cessna 15 is a twin seated tricycle gear general aviation plane that was designed for touring, fighting and personal use. It is the 3rd most produced civilian plane ever with 23,839 of them produced. This was designed to take over as the 14 were taken out of production.
