Cessna 205 Personal Aircraft

The Cessna 205, 206, and 207 are all part of a line of Cessna planes known as the Super Skywagon, Stationair, and Super Skylane.1 They are all single engine general aviation craft utilized in a range commercial and personal uses.1 They were all developed from the Cessna 210.

These planes boast powerful engines, durable constructions and spacious cabins.1 These assets have led to their popularity for use as bush planes.1 They are also commonly utilized for aerial photography, sky diving, and other pursuits.1 Floats can be attached to these planes as well as skis.1 They can also be equipped with luxury features for greater comfort in their use as personal air transportation.1 A total of 7783 aircraft have been produced between these models.

The Cessna 205 was first brought to market in 1962 but was sold as a 1963 model.1 It was basically a Cessna 210 with fixed gear and alterations to the arrangement of the crew capcity and passenger door.1 The 205 featured the same cowling bulge as the 210.1 This bulge was originally used by the 210 as a space to stow the nosewheel when it was retracted.1 Cowling of this type was retained for the 206 as well because of its enhanced aerodynamic properties.

The 205 runs on a single Continental IO-470-S engine which is capable of 260 horsepower output. 1The official Cessna designation of the 205 was the Model 210-5 for the first year it was in production.1 It was also given the name of1 Super Skywagon, but it is not related to the other Cessna Skywagon-the model 180.1 The 205 was produced for a mere 2 years-1963-1964 and then it was replaced by the 206. There were 576 model 205's manufactured.
